MORRIGAN Inside-the-Waistband Holster by RAVEN CONCEALMENT SYSTEMS
Raven has a long-established reputation for producing innovative, high-quality Kydex carry gear and their new Morrigan model is certainly all of that. The one-piece Kydex body is lightweight, thin and boasts a unique retention system: the bottom of the holster, which encloses the trigger guard and dust cover, has been left open along its entire length. A narrow hook-and-loop strap wraps around the holster body, providing as much or as little friction as the end-user prefers. The strap is secured to the holster and rides in a shallow groove that keeps it from shifting or sliding. Because the Morrigan is for inside-the-waistband carry only, no other retention is needed.
The Morrigan is fully ambidextrous, meaning that there are a series of pre-drilled holes on both sides of the holster. These holes allow installation of the two provided “pull-the-dot” belt loop straps in a wide variety of positions based on user preference.
As one would expect from Raven Concealment Systems, all of the edges are smooth and snag free, including the fabric retention strap. There is nothing here to abrade or irritate either you or your gun.
The Morrigan comes with all hardware and a clear, concise set of instructions. The instructions are so complete that they even explain why “pull-the-dot” fasteners are sometimes so obnoxious and how to easily fix that. The Morrigan even comes in a nice rectangular box that can be easily gift wrapped (most holsters come in plastic bags or clamshell hang packages) by you, for you. Lastly, the box explains both the mythological origins of the name Morrigan and reassures the purchaser that they’re holding a product produced in the U.S.A., by American workers using American tooling and materials.
Oh…and how does it perform? Well, let’s just say that Raven’s reputation for excellence remains fully intact. Get one. In fact, at an MSRP of $49.99, get two. You can thank us later!
